En’field’ of Dreams: If You Build It, They Will Come

The nights are drawing in, the days are getting shorter, winter is coming…however The Enfield Film Office, managed by The Film Office have been using the available light and fantastic array of locations for a variety of shoots, here are just some of our highlights filmed across the borough over the past month.

GOTTA CATCH EM ALL

Everyones favourite, Pokemon, returned to Broomfield Park again last month, filming scenes for an online video around Broomfield Park. The 21 hector park is steeped in history with some wonderful period and historic features including: Coronation Gates, Historic Walls & Brick Archway over the main entrance. Its eastern field contains wonderful concrete steps overlooking the field. There are also 3 Lakes, that form a Baroque water feature, a model boat pond and even a Tudor bandstand that hosts live concerts! As you can see below it looks like the Pokemon all had a fabulous time in this wonderful park!

SCREWFIX

Filming scenes for a new commercial for Screwfix, Enfield Film Office were contacted by production to facilitate shooting at Tottenhall Recreation Ground filming a variety of scenes involving football matches. Tottenhall Recreation Ground is a large parkland area that has an array of facilities in the park including Children’s Playground, Basketball Court, Outdoor Gym Area, Multiple Football and Rugby Pitches. There are on site changing room facilities that can be filmed in or used as a cast / crew holding area and the site also has parking available to easily facilitate filming.

NO WE CAN

The National Citizen Service (NCS) is a voluntary personal and social development programme for 15–17 year olds in England and Northern Ireland. The scheme takes place in the spring, summer or autumn coinciding with school holidays. Groups of teenagers usually undertake a residential visit, often to an activity centre for an outdoor education-style course in the countryside involving both physical and team building activities. After this, participants then undertake a residential phase, gaining a taste of independent living and learning a variety of skills for their future. In the third phase, participants deliver a “social action” project in their local community, often to raise awareness of or fundraise for a particular cause.

When the production got in contact to facilitate filming for their next commercial entitled “No We Can”, we were more than happy to accommodate the shoot at Enfield Market Square in the heart of Enfield Town. Enfield Market is held in trust for the benefit of local people, and is enjoyed by people from across the borough and further afield. The location is great for filming & photography, with a working market operating Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The market provided a wonderful community feel backdrop for filming and it’s fantastic to see the finished results below!

SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE

Lastly, returning for a second visit to our ever popular Empty Cottages, Surrey Police filmed scenes for an internal video about drug awareness. The project, aimed at young people to show the harsh realities of drug dealing utilised this disused location located in the heart of Enfield. The 2 cottages offer spacious run down rooms including a large reception room at the back of the property and 2 good sized bedrooms on the first floor. With the right prep / dressing these cottages can be transformed into any look you’re after, or you can keep the derelict / abandoned feel to them.

We can’t wait to see what the rest of year brings to the borough of Enfield!
