Film & TV Charity – Financial Support

The cost-of-living crisis has left many Film & TV industry workers with new financial worries and concerns. The Film & TV Charity has launched a new online tool to support the industry during the cost-of-living crisis. It aims to provide information, resources and support specifically for people working in film, TV, or cinema from one-off grants to help you in a crisis, to useful tools like budget planners.

It has been set up in partnership with financial support service MoneyHelper, to assist with financial planning and management, which is often complicated for freelancers.

The tool joins the charity’s abundance of existing support functions, such as Stop-Gap Grants, Work and Wellbeing Advice Service, and Mental Health Support accessed through their 24/7 Support Line. The new tool includes a budget planner, bills prioritiser and savings calculator which allows users to get a better understanding of how they can improve their finances ad manage their money more effectively.

The Film and TV Charity’s CEO, Alex Pumfrey, said: “With the cost-of-living crisis and rising energy bills causing grave concern, we want to ensure that everyone in the TV and film industry has access to the best advice and guidance possible. Our new financial tools aren’t a magic bullet to the cost-of-living crisis, but they do offer a greater ability to plan and manage finances and ultimately strengthen resilience.”
