With the festive season already upon us and Christmas Day so close, we can’t quite believe the year is coming to an end. Many exciting productions have visited the borough throughout 2022 to film at a variety of our fantastic locations, making it a busy year for filming here at the Enfield Film Office, managed by The Film Office. Below we’ve selected a few highlights for you to take a look at before the year ends and we hope to welcome yet more productions in 2023!
Your Christmas or Mine
Kicking things off with something festive! Prime video’s original ‘Your Christmas or Mine?’ following a young couple who on Christmas Eve Eve both make the same mad split-second decision to swap trains and surprise each other. Passing each other in the station, they are completely unaware that they have just swapped Christmases.
The production set up for 3 days on Empire Avenue and Tasmania Terrace near Edmonton to film scenes down an alleyway, with multiple elements including a road closure, large camera cranes and even dressed the location with snow and Christmas lights to create the perfect festive scene!
Your Christmas or Mine is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now, take a look at the trailer below!
Christmas Carole
Sky have announced this Christmas they will be airing a modern take on Charles Dicken’s renowned novel – A Christmas Carol and are calling ‘Christmas Carole’. Suranne Jones will star as a unashamedly wealthy entrepreneur Carole who runs a business selling all things festive is actually a right Scrooge when it comes to Christmas. As she takes a step into her Christmas past, present and future, will this help her discover the true spirit of Christmas?
Filming at Edmonton Cemetery, the production dressed the cemetery with their own gravestone and snow on the ground for a burial scene which involved mourners arriving for the service.
When filming at cemeteries, here at the Enfield Film Office, managed by Film Office, it is most important to us that the location is respected and protected throughout the filming process from agreeing conditions regarding the dressing with the cemeteries team to ensuring it can still be used by those wishing to pay their respects to loved ones. This production were dutiful and conscientious when it came to the preservation of the location, fully reinstating the site upon wrapping their filming.
Christmas Carole is set to hit our screens on Christmas Eve and we can’t wait to watch it!
PG Tips
Back at the beginning of 2022 we had the joy of welcoming Britain’s well loved tea company PG tips to the borough. Filming at the fantastic Forty Hall the production set up a grand summer fete for PG Tips ‘air tea’ drinking championship. Which involved actors competing drinking air tea in different ways as if in a competition like air guitar in front of a panel of judges.
Jacob Hughes-Rodgers, the Film Officer on the job said, “When the creative brief came in for this commercial, we knew that The Forty Hall Estate offered the perfect location to facilitate this fantastic shoot. With a huge cast and crew over over 100 the production came with a multitude of requests so it was brilliant to see on the day all the hard work come to fruition and see some people ROCK OUT with tea, because who wouldn’t!”
